Seventy delegates representing some 5, 000 Americans and Canadians who have settled in Israel met at ZOA House here today to confer on efforts to attract more settlers from North America.
Avraham Harman, member of the Jewish Agency executive and former Israeli diplomat who served in both Canada and the United States, called on American and Canadian Jewry to help defray the cost of immigration of North American Jews. He warned that though Israel has a great need of American skilled immigrants, that Israel cannot match the high standards to which these people have been accustomed.
