The National Council of the United Zionists-Revisionists of America last night concluded its national conference here after adopting resolutions urging the Provisional Government of Israel “to resist all attempts to impose upon it the boundaries outlined in the United Nations partition resolution of Nov. 29, 1947” and “to continue the struggle for the liberation of Israel, within the full extent of its historic boundaries.”
Other resolutions deplored. “attempts to negotiate a peace treaty between Israel and King Abdullah” called on the Israeli Government to arrange for an exchange of populations with the Arab states; urged the Israeli Government to “release all political prisoners detained under the newly-enacted emergency regulations”; greeted “the heroic fighters of Israel for their splendid victories in the war of liberation”; and, voiced the hope that the Israeli Government will “keep the armed forces free from political and partisan influence.”
The Council regretted the “recent split in the Jabotinsky movement” created by the formation of the Irgun-sponsored Freedom Party. At the same time it expressed “pride in the unprecedented heroic fight of the Irgun.”
Meir Grossman, chairman of the World Revisionist executive, who is now in this country, outlined his party’s program both in Israel and abroad. He said that the Revisionist Party will set up its own list of candidates for the forthcoming elections to the Israeli Constituent Assembly. “We would be willing, however,” he added, “to consider a ‘bloc arrangement’ with groups closest to the Revisionist Party ideologically and programmatically.”
