A 24-year-old Arab honor student has been awarded the third annual Judah L. Magnes scholarship, donated by an American foundation at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, it was announced here today by James Marshall, president of the Judah L. Magnes Foundation, Inc., and chairman of the board of directors of the American Friends of the Hebrew University.
Mr. Marshall disclosed that the award for 1957-58 had gone to Butrus Najeeb Dally, a native of Kfar Yussuf, Israel, Mr. Dally plans to pursue a career as a teacher. He matriculated in 1954 in the Hebrew University’s Faculty of Humanities where he majored in history, English and physics. He subsequently transferred his interest to Oriental Studies and decided to qualify for a Bachelor’s degree in the School of Education.
