More than 80 students in 9 leading American cities today participated in the four-hour Hebrew examination sponsored jointly in this country by the Zionist Organization of America and the American Association for Jewish Education.
A joint announcement issued from the Z.O.A. and the A.A.J.E. revealed that the oral and written tests, which are now recognized as the world standards for proficiency in the Hebrew language were given in New York City, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Cleveland, Chicago, Miami, New Haven, Newark and Seattle. The examination papers will be graded and all who pass will receive a special certificate issued by the Hebrew University and the World Union for Jewish Education attesting to their excellence in Hebrew.
