A considerable number of American colleges and universities have expressed interesting the plan that has been devised to enable American student to spend a year of study at the Hebrew University. and have indicated a readiness to allow their students leave of absence for this purpose, it was announced here today by Dr. George S. Wise, president of the American Friends of the Hebrew University, and by Professor Oscar I. Janowsky, chairman of its Academic Council.
These academic institutions have indicated their intention to give sympathetic consideration to requests from students for credit toward their degrees. The students will therefore be able to continue with their regular studies while acquiring proficiency in the language of the country, knowledge of its history and social life, and of the problems of the Middle East.
