Close to $600,000 was raised tonight for the benefit of the Technion, Israel institute of Technology, at the annual dinner of the American Technion Society. More than 500 guests participated in the event, held at the Waldorf Astoria.
David Rose, Society president, announced that $250,000 was received at the dinner from the Dan Danciger Trust of Dallas. The funds will be used for the construction of a building in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering on the new campus of the Technion in Haifa. Another large gift–$100,000–was received and will be used for the construction of a student dormitory on the new campus.
