Terre Fleener, a 24-year-old woman from San Antonio, Texas who was sentenced to a five year prison term in Israel for spying for the Palestine Liberation Organization, arrived in New York yesterday and immediately left with her parents for an undisclosed destination. Ms. Fleener served 20 months in an Israeli ail. Her sentence was commuted on Friday and she departed for the U.S. the same day, via Rome, She was quoted at Rome Airport yesterday as saying she still sympathized with the PLO despite their terrorist tactics because it was “the only route available to them.” She was arrested on October 2, 1977.
