A total of nine different seminars will be held in Israel-during the coming summer for teachers and other Jewish professionals under the sponsorship of the American Zionist Council and the Jewish Agency for Israel in Jerusalem, it was announced here today.
Dr. Samuel M. Blumenfield, director of the Council’s Department of Education and Culture, said the summer projects were designed to help maintain cultural bridges between Israeli and American Jewries and to improve Jewish educational standards in the united States. He said a number of the seminars had been certified by cooperating universities for accreditation.
He reported also that a special Bar Mitzvah pilgrimage for 13-year-old American youngsters had been arranged to coincide with the Bar Mitzvah anniversary of Israel. He said the number of applications for the project had far exceeded the available places in the pilgrimage.
