The American Zionist Council, which represents all major Zionist organizations in the United States, said today that it deplored attempts to “exploit” the entry of Brith Trumpeldor Zionist youth into the Syrian mission last Friday, and efforts to use the incident “to deflect attention” from Syrian aggression against Israel.
The Council said that the group was only one of 10 Zionist youth groups in this country,” and represents only a small segment of American Zionist youth.” The statement added that the “sit-in” in the Syria mission building was “not authorized either by the Zionist Youth Council or by the American Zionist Council.”
