Details of the broad program of informational and cultural activities set up by the American Zionist Council have been announced here by the Council chairman, Rabbi Irving Miller. The Council is composed of the eight Zionist organizations in the United States, with a combined membership of 750,000.
The program will include an increased flow of American professionals, writers and broadcasting commentators to Israel; and a vast increase in efforts to counter anti-Israeli propaganda by the projected Arab propaganda office in this country, by such organizations as the American Friends of the Middle East, and by “that handful of men and women who traduce the fair name of Judaism by bearing false witness against their brethren.”
The program will also include increased efforts on behalf of Jewish education and the spread of Hebrew culture; forums; youth activities; the establishment of regional offices by the Council in other large cities outsider New York; and a series of regional conferences.
