A budget of over $500,000 for medical and public health work in Palestine will be presented for ratification to the sixteenth annual convention of Hadassah, the Women’s Zionist Organization of America, to be held at the Statler Hotel, Buffalo, Oct. 26, 27 and 28. Hadassah maintains the largest health agency in Palestine, comprising hospitals, health centers, infant welfare clinics, rural medical service, school luncheons, and a system of health education. Its institutions are open to all creeds.
Of the total sum $388,500 will be proposed for the Hadassah Medical Organization, the largest unit within the Hadassah health system.
In addition, the Palestine Supplies Department of Hadassah plans to duplicate its record of the current year in sending to Palestine linens and clothing valued at $100,000. A more intensive part in the redemption of the soil of Palestine will be recommended, calling for the raising of $825,000 in ten years for the purchase of land in the vicinity of Haifa Bay.
