An appeal “to the statesmen and leaders of the justice-loving nations of the world” to rescue European Jewry, coupled with a demand for “a Jewish fighting force under the United Nations command” and for a declaration that “the establishment of Palestine as a Jewish commonwealth is one of the just and long denied aims of the peoples of the world,” was made in a resolution unanimously adopted by the National Administrative Council of the Zionist Organization of America, the ruling body of the organization between conventions, at a meeting held yesterday at the Pennsylvania Hotel.
Another resolution adopted at the meeting condemned the activities of the “American Council for Judaism.” The resolution declared that it is “confident that the overwhelming majority of Jews everywhere join in this rebuke.” The meeting was addressed by Moshe Shertok, political leader of the Jewish Agency for Palestine, and Rabbi Meyer Berlin, President of the World Hizrachi organization, both of whom flew here from Palestine.
