An immediate re-appraisals of the current American arms policy in the Middle East, and the inclusion of Israel’s security as a major feature of U.S. foreign policy, were strongly urged today by a special conference of New Jersey Zionist leaders, held at the Essex House here under the auspices of the Commission on Israel and the Middle East of the Zionist Organization of America.
Approximately 200 leaders of Zionist districts throughout the state participated in the all-day conference under the chairmanship of Rabbi Leon I. Feuer of Toledo, Ohio, A full review of the present situation with respect to Israel and the Arab states was presented by Harry Torczyner, national chairman of the Commission on Israel and the Middle East Harold P. Manson, executive vice-chairman of the ZOA’s Department of Public Information; Rev. Karl Baehr, executive secretary of the American Christian Palestine Committee, and Chanan Bar-On, member of the Israel delegation to the United Nations.
