A call to Americans of all creeds and faiths to join and subscribe to the “Vladeck Memorial Fund” for the Defense of Democracy and the Promotion of Racial Tolerance was issued here today by David Dubinsky, treasurer. This fund, Dr. Dubinsky said, “more than steel and stone would be a fit monument to the Jewish immigrant who devoted his life to the furtherance of the democratic ideals and tolerance, which we, as American, cherish so much.” Other officers are Sidney Hillman, chairman; Adolf Held and Max Zaritsky, vice-chairman and Joseph Baskin, secretary.
