Mr. A.D. Dickenstein and Dr. Herman Seidel, members of the board of directors of the American Palestine Trading Corporation, Ampal, left for Israel today to undertake important negotiations for further investments by the organization in Israel.
During the last five months, Ampal has granted loans totalling $5,000,000 to various enterprises in Israel for housing, irrigation and industrial development. Substantial portions of these funds were derived from the sale of Ampal debentures in the United States and the balance came from repayment of previous loans in Israel. Mr. Dickenstein and Dr. Seidel will remain in Israel for several weeks appraising investment projects there.
