An aide to Israel’s prime minister denied that the United States had relaxed its demand that the Palestinian Authority crack down on terrorist groups. The comments by Dov Weisglass came after The New York Times reported Saturday that U.S. officials had concluded that P.A. Prime Minister Mahmoud Abbas is too weak to enforce a crackdown on terrorist groups like Hamas and Islamic Jihad.
