An American Jewish Congress leadership mission, led by the organization’s president, Howard Squadron, will leave January 16 for a 10-day visit to Paris, Cairo and Jerusalem, it was announced today. The group will hold a series of private meetings with French Foreign Minister Claude Cheysson, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and Israeli Premier Menachem Begin. While in Paris, Squadron, who also serves as chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, will receive a coveted Medallion de Ver million from Mayor Jacques Chirac of Paris. The medal is conferred on visitors “of the highest distinction.”
