An ancient West Bank city and a Serbian synagogue were included on a list of 100 most endangered sites. Tell Balatah, located east of Nablus, is suffering from lack of conservation and maintenance, vandalism and heavy rains, according to the list. The Subotica Synagogue in Serbia and Montenegro, built in 1902 and considered one of the last remaining examples of Secessionist architecture after World War II, is also in need of restoration work on the roof and facades. Both sites are on the the World Monuments Fund’s 2006 list of endangered sites.
