An attorney for John Demjanjuk urged a U.S. District Court judge to restore the citizenship of the 77-year-old Cleveland resident. Demjanjuk, who was accused of being a guard at the Treblinka death camp, was stripped of his citizenship in 1981. An Israeli court cleared him in 1993 of charges of being “Ivan the Terrible.”
