An emergency fund campaign for the support of emigration to Israel has been opened here. The official campaign, scheduled to last three weeks, followed a spontaneous outpouring of gifts for this purpose to many Jewish organizations here. It is estimated that the emergency drive will result in the doubling of normal fund-raising by the Brazilian Israel campaign.
