An influential Israeli religious party said it could support Ariel Sharon’s disengagement plan. Shas would back the planned withdrawal from the Gaza Strip and parts of the West Bank next year “if the prime minister comes up with some sort of arrangement with the Palestinians on the exit,” party leader Eli Yishai told Ma’ariv on Thursday.
