An institute for apprentice fund-raisers for the United Jewish Appeal opened here Monday. It is intended to train a select group in new concepts of fund-raising. The five-month course will have an initial enrollment of 25, seven from the U.S. and the rest from Israel.
Those completing the course will be assigned to work in South America, Europe, Australia, South Africa and the U.S. The course includes Zionist history, the development of the Jewish people, and the nature of social problems in Israel. The trainees, all 30 years or older, who have pursued professional careers, intend to dedicate the next 3-4 years to raising funds for Israel.
