An international panel probing Holocaust-era insurance claims plans to ask the United States to protect cooperating European insurers from lawsuits, the World Jewish Congress told Reuters. The International Commission on Holocaust Era Insurance Claims will soon ask the U.S. government to write a statement that would be filed with courts handling lawsuits brought by Holocaust survivors.
