An Iranian accused of spying for Israel is on trial in Tehran.
Iranian authorities announced Saturday that a man in his 40s was under arrest on charges of being a Mossad agent. Secret communications equipment was found in his possession, they said.
If convicted, the alleged spy could face execution.
Jerusalem officials said they were unaware of the case, which comes amid spiraling Israeli-Iranian tensions over Tehran’s nuclear program.
