An Israeli air navigator who was taken captive in Lebanon 13 years ago may no longer be alive, according to a former commander of the Israel air force. But Maj. Gen. Avihu Ben Nun said this week that his comments regarding navigator Ron Arad were based solely on the fact that so many years have passed without any evidence that Arad is alive. A spokesman for the Israeli army said Israel holds Iran responsible for Arad’s well-being.
