An Israeli army intelligence officer recently was relieved of his post after refusing on moral grounds to provide information for an air strike in the West Bank. The Israeli daily Ma’ariv reported this week that the affair involved an aerial attack on a Palestinian office in the West Bank that was approved as part of a series of retaliatory operations ordered by the political leadership following the Jan. 5 double suicide bombing in Tel Aviv that killed 23 people.
