An Israeli belly dancer who filed a complaint last December against Egypt’s ambassador to Israel for alleged sexual assault asked a court to strip him of his diplomatic immunity. In her suit, the dancer argued that Mohammed Basiouny’s diplomatic immunity should not apply to the allegations. Basiouny has denied the charges, and Israel’s state attorney has dropped its investigation into the matter for lack of evidence.
