An Israeli civil rights group said it would ask the High Court of Justice to block Tel Aviv police from collecting DNA samples from former sex offenders as part of their investigation of an alleged serial rapist. The move by the Association for Civil Rights in Israel came as police reportedly began preparing to collect the samples as part of ongoing efforts to apprehend the alleged rapist, who is believed to have been involved in more than 20 sexual assaults over two years.
