An Israeli court convicted a German citizen of aiding the Hezbollah organization, but dismissed allegations that he planned to carry out a terrorist attack inside Israel. Stephan Smyrek was arrested at Ben-Gurion Airport over a year ago on suspicion of planning to photograph locations in Israel and pass them on to Hezbollah.
