An Israeli court convicted an extreme right-wing activist for conspiring in 1997 to plant a pig’s head on the Haifa grave of a Muslim cleric. Avigdor Eskin was also convicted Tuesday on charges he was involved in the arson of a Jerusalem branch of the peace group Dor Shalom. But Eskin was cleared of charges of planning to put a pig’s head on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.
