An Israeli diplomat found himself on the receiving end of an anti-Israel harangue during a visit to Crete. Ambassador Ram Aviram was on a courtesy call to George Katsanevaki, prefecture of the city of Chania, earlier this month when the local leader — a well-known Israel basher — unleashed, calling Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon “the anti-Christ” and insisting that “the feelings of the people of Chania toward Israel are anything but friendly.”
