An Israeli general who has been in jail for an arms scandals involving the United States could be released later this month. An Israeli army spokesman said Sunday that Rami Dotan, who has served nine years of a 13-year sentence for fraud, bribe-taking and breach of trust, would be freed on June 27 if no other Israeli authority blocks the decision. In 1997, Israel’s High Court of Justice prevented Dotan’s release.
