An Israeli hiker taken hostage by a Marxist group in Colombia was released last Friday after two-and-a-half weeks in captivity. Elad Lichtenberg, 24, had been kidnapped along with two other travelers, of British and Swiss nationality, in Santiago, Chile. They were released following the intervention of Lichtenberg’s family, the Israeli Foreign Ministry and the International Red Cross, according to the Israeli daily Ha’aretz.
