“I’ve surprised myself,” he said. “I took bronze in Sydney but I’m in the same shape as I was back then. I’m in good form.” Israel’s Shahar Zubari will start Wednesday’s Men’s RS:X windsurfer medal race in fourth place after finishing first and fourth in Tuesday’s qualifying races. Maayan Davidovich finished 10th in women’s windsurfing to qualify for the medal race. Israeli synchronized swimmers Inna Yoffe and Anastasia Gloushkov finished 16th in the duet free routine preliminary and did not advance to the final.
In taekwondo, Israel’s Bat-El Gatterer begins his quest for a medal in the 57kg class on Thursday, a day after the competition begins.
