An Israeli legislator withdrew a petition challenging the release of Margalit Har-Shefi, after Israel’s High Court said President Moshe Katsav had acted within his authority when he commuted her sentence. Har-Shefi, sentenced to nine months in prison for failing to prevent the assassination of Yitzhak Rabin, is due to be released from jail Aug. 10.
