An Israeli naval vessel opened fire Saturday on a Palestinian fishing boat off the coast of the Gaza Strip, wounding two people aboard the boat. Israeli officials said the ship opened fire after the fisherman ignored orders to stop after entering a restricted area where sea traffic is prohibited. Under the Israeli-Palestinian accords, Israel controls the territorial waters up to 12 miles off the Gaza coast.
