An Israeli painter petitioned the High Court of Justice against the decision to revoke the Israel Prize that was to have been awarded to him. Moshe Gershoni said Education Minister Limor Livnat’s decision was “insulting” and “full of lies,” Army Radio reported. Livnat decided to revoke the prize after Gershoni said he would not attend the awards ceremony on Independence Day.
