An Israeli parliamentary committee on science and technology has sought clarification of possible health hazards in the use of cellular phones. Representatives from the Israel Consumer Council asked that Israel’s cellular phone companies earmark funds for research on possible ill effects of using cellular phones. Representatives said concerns were raised following an Australian study indicating a higher incidence of brain cancer among cellular phone users.
