An Israeli settler leader called on settlers to combat evacuation with civil disobedience. “I call for the violation of this immoral law. Only if we are a large community that commits now to be in Gush Katif and in northern Samaria on the day that the order is given, and we commit to oppose the evacuation physically and with firmness and to pay the price of going to jail — only then is there a chance that this government will understand the gravity of its actions,” Pinchas Wallerstein wrote in a letter to settlers last Friday.
