An Israeli soldier and a Palestinian gunman died in a West Bank clash.
Israeli troops raided Nablus early Tuesday in search of terrorists and weapons. A soldier suffered fatal wounds when his patrol came under fire from local gunmen.
The troops shot back, killing one assailant and wounding another. The dead gunman was identified as a member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine terrorist group.
Two other Palestinians were arrested.
