An Israeli soldier was killed in clashes with Palestinians in the West Bank. Sgt. Gabriel Uziel, 20, died Thursday after Palestinian gunmen opened fire near the West Bank city of Jenin. The Al-Aksa Brigade, a militia linked to Palestinian Authority President Yasser Arafat, claimed responsibility for the killing, which took place hours before Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Mahmoud Abbas addressed Palestinian legislators.
