An Israeli soldier was left behind in the Gaza Strip after falling asleep following a daylong operation there.
Soldiers from the Golani Brigade discovered their comrade was missing after returning to their base in Israel on July 26 following an operation last week in Gaza that left five Palestinian militants dead. After searching for some time on both sides of the barrier separating Israel from Gaza, the soldier was located some 2,000 feet inside Palestinian territory.
The soldiers who found him said he was exhausted and scared, according to Israel Radio.
