An Israeli television network reportedly agreed to pay Azzam Azzam, a former espionage convict in Egypt, $40,000 for an exclusive interview. Channels One, Two and Ten first said Monday that Azzam’s request for $60,000 for an exclusive account of his eight-year imprisonment was a violation of journalistic ethics, but Channel Ten later decided to do the interview for a slightly lower sum, Ha’aretz reported.
