Dr. Chaim Weizmann, president of the Jewish Agency for Palestine, who is expected to leave within the next few days for Washington, may be asked by President Truman to join in a conference with Prime Minister Attlee, when the latter reaches the United States.
A suggestion to this effect has been made in London, Reuters reported today. the report stated that contrary to many rumors, there is still no real agreement between the British and American views on essential points about the future of Palestine.
“It was felt here that with the situation developing rapidly, it would be impossible to carry through a policy of careful inquiry into the situation, and that when Attlee sees the President certain immediate decisions of a far reaching nature would probably have to be taken,” the British news agency said.
