An offer by “Artia.” the Prague foreign trade corporation for the export of books, to promote the distribution of a limited number of books of Jewish interest in the West has been rejected by the International Council of Jews from Czechoslovakia. The Council told Artia that it would not be prepared to accept its proposal because the Council had been the target of a number of attacks by the Czech media. Furthermore, the books offered the West were all heavily censored and presented a distorted picture.
