An ORT school in St. Petersburg was among the winners of this year’s Russian presidential award for innovation and excellence in education. The award to the ORT de Gunzburg School carries a cash prize of 1 million rubles, or $38,000.
The award was influenced by the success of ORT students in national and international competitions, World ORT in London said in a news release.
Founded 12 years ago, the ORT de Gunzburg School serves 420 students aged 6 to 17. The curriculum combines Russian national educational requirements with technological education and Jewish subjects.
