An unknown Palestinian group detonated explosives under an Israeli military position in the Gaza Strip, wounding at least seven people. Sunday’s tunnel explosion at the Philadelphia Corridor buffer zone on Gaza’s border with Egypt was followed by intense mortar fire from nearby Rafah, and Israeli troops shot back. The army did not immediately give details of the casualties. Gaza terrorist groups, long used to smuggling in arms from Egypt using tunnels, have recently turned the secret passages into means of planting bombs under Israeli installations in Gaza. An Israeli soldier was killed in one such attack last week.
