An ancient Israelite sanctuary and a fortress, both dating back to the days of King Solomon, were almost completely uncovered at Tel Arad, it was reported today. An archaeological team under the direction of Prof. Yohanan Aharoni, now in its fifth and final season of digging at the site, also discovered a potter’s workshop near the entrance to the sanctuary courtyard.
