Both Jews and Arabs today named their representatives to attend Palestine truce talks called by the U.N. Security Council at suggestion of the United States. The Jewish Agency named Moshe Shertok, while Arab Higher Committee has designated its vice-president, Canal Husseini.
Informal talks will be resumed tomorrow by the U.S. delegation and members the Council on the Palestine trusteeship plan proposed by the United States. U.S. gate Warren Austin told newsmen that he hopes to secure an Initial reaction from members of the Council to the 15-point American plan at tomorrow’s meeting.
Delegates were generally cautious today in expressing their views on the U.S. which 1s, thus far, opposed by both the Jews and the Arabs. Syrian delegate its el Khoury today indicated that the Arabs would not accept any trusteeship plan K which would allow trustee powers to bring their troops into Palestine.
