Five U.S. members of the Anglo-American Committee of Inquiry on Palestine arrived today at La Guardia Field.
None of them would comment on the committee’s report, which was brought to the United States on Tuesday by U.S. Chairman Judge Joseph C. Hutcheson. The only one to make any comment was Acting Chairman Frank Buxton who said that what the Jews have accomplished in Palestine “is nothing short of a miracle.”
In a letter released in Washington yesterday, President Truman expressed his thanks to the members of the committee “for untiring efforts which you have exerted in preparing the report.”
